This will be a simple step-by step guide on how to replace the battery in the APC Smart UPS 750 currently in building 5 as of 5/5/2020. APC documentation recommends that the batteries be replaced every 3-5 years depending on use.

  1.  Take off the front plastic panel on the UPS. This will pull right off.
  2. Underneath the plastic panel, there will be a metal plate with a thumbscrew holding it in place. Loosen this screw and slide the plate to the left and out of the way.
  3. The battery will now be exposed. There are two plastic tabs on it. Pull those tabs up and wiggle the battery out.
  4. The new battery has a red and a green side. The green side should be facing towards the top of the UPS. The battery is labeled to avoid confusion. Insert the new battery and firmly press down until the small LCD screen on the right of the unit shows a prompt for "New Battery Inserted?".
  5. Select yes for the new battery replacement and select the correct date.
  6. Replace the metal panel, screw, and plastic panel and verify that the UPS is working properly.

The battery model is APC RBC123. The battery is hot-swappable, so disconnecting power isn't necessary.
