Notes: If you are having issues after getting a new phone.
Transferring to a new phone usually transfers the accounts but breaks the authentication mechanism. Go ahead and open your Microsoft Authenticator application on your new phone and remove your old Time account. You can do the removal by selecting your Time account > Select the gear at the top right corner > Select Remove Account. You can then Select the "+" icon on your Authenticator app to add a "Work or School Account" > Select Scan QR Code. On your computer open a browser and go to Office.com. You can then sign in using your email account and skip to step 4 on the following instructions.
- Sign into your Office work account ( https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info )
- Under Security info, you’ll notice already configured methods if prior setup was done. If you have already registered, you'll be prompted for two-factor verification. It is recommended that you use at least two forms of MFA methods to keep one as a backup in case you are having technical issues with the other. The order should be to use your Cellphone as a backup method and the Microsoft Authenticator App as primary for ease of use. To add a method select Add sign-in method > Select the method preferred > Follow the prompts to finish the setup completion. In a case where you change your phone number and or cellphone device these methods will break and prevent you from signing into your Office account. In this case you will want to Delete any non-functional MFA methods and follow the Add sign-in method instructions to update your personal MFA methods.
- Primary recommended MFA method > Add Sign-In Method select Authenticator app from the list, and then select Add.
- If you don't already have the Microsoft Authenticator app Installed on your cellphone, on the Start by getting the app page, select Download now to download and install the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device, and then select Next. For more information about how to download and install the app, see Download and install the Microsoft Authenticator app.
- If your organization lets you choose a different method besides the authenticator app, you can select I want to set up a different method. (This will allow to add a cellphone number instead of setting up the Authenticator App option)
- If your organization lets you choose a different method besides the authenticator app, you can select I want to set up a different method. (This will allow to add a cellphone number instead of setting up the Authenticator App option)
- Remain on the Set up your account page while you set up the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device.
- Open the Microsoft Authenticator app, select to allow notifications (if prompted), select Add account from the Customize and control icon on the upper-right, and then select Work or school account.
Note: The first time you set up the Microsoft Authenticator app, you might receive a prompt asking whether to allow the app to access your camera (iOS) or to allow the app to take pictures and record video (Android). You must select Allow so the authenticator app can access your camera to take a picture of the QR code in the next step. If you don't allow the camera, you can still set up the authenticator app, but you'll need to add the code information manually. For information about how to add the code manually, see Manually add an account to the app.
- Return to the Set up your account page on your computer, and then select Next. The Scan the QR code page appears.
- Scan the provided code with the Microsoft Authenticator app QR code reader, which appeared on your mobile device after you created your work or school account in Step 6.
- The authenticator app should successfully add your work or school account without requiring any additional information from you. However, if the QR code reader can't read the code, you can select Can't scan the QR code and manually enter the code and URL into the Microsoft Authenticator app. For more information about manually adding a code, see Manually add an account to the app.
- Select Next on the Scan the QR code page on your computer. A notification is sent to the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device, to test your account.
- Approve the notification in the Microsoft Authenticator app, and then select Next. Your security info is updated to use the Microsoft Authenticator app by default to verify your identity when using two-step verification or password reset.

You might start hearing about Shared drives, Files, Folders, Network location documents. Depending on your role you will need to know which specific shared drive location is where the documents you will be working on reside. Search for “File Explorer” or look for the Manilla Folder Icon which is defaulted for the computers File Explorer.
Once opening your File Explorer, you can navigate all local and shared directories by expanding the “This PC” option by selecting the arrow marker to the left of this option.
